The winter is loosening its hold in Northern Indiana. We have had over 100 inches of snow this year, but yesterday morning I was greeted with blooming crocus and a Carolina jasmine in full splendor. Today it is back to just above freezing. I am often preoccupied with the current chaos of our collective life, and yet I still trust that we will find a way through. Two artworks around those ideas are headed into the world. Wayfinder: Into a Strange Land is headed to the Virginia Quilt Museum next week for the No Boundaries Exhibit, and Mindmap: Everything All at Once has been shipped to Art Quilt Elements 2026 at the Wayne Art Center in Wayne, PA. Work on the Openhearted series continues. Slowly.
Wayfinder: Into a Strange Land, 44 × 37”, wool, bone beads
Mindmap: Everything All at Once (detail), 53 × 28”. Linen, cotton, silk noil
A Few Good Books. Here are some titles I have enjoyed lately: Amity, by Nathan Harris; The Black Wolf, by Louise Penney; The Postcard, by Anne Berest (all in paper), and on audio, Buckeye, by Patrick Ryan; Angel Down, by Daniel Kraus and Isola, by Allegra Goodman.
Spring will come.
